Click here to return to main Perception website The official game from the acclaimed series was for the first time shown to gamers at the Electronic Entertainment Exposition, the world’s major trade video game show, in Los Angeles.

STARGATE SG-1 : THE ALLIANCE™ was definitely one of the highlights of the show with a very strong presence on Austrian publisher Jowood’s booth where the real gate from the series stood tall. [Click here for image]

All players were impressed by the visual qualities of the game and enjoyed the fast paced game play offered by the unique squad management system and innovations such as the cloaking system and the “hand of light”… [Click here for image]

One of the game console versions was also shown on the stand of US distributor Namco. [Click here for image]

But the fans rejoiced when none other than veteran actor Richard Dean Anderson, who plays our favorite hero Brigadier General Jack O’Neill, commander of the SG-1 team in the series, joined for the opening of the show. [Click here for image]

Very casual and accessible, Richard Dean Anderson, whose likeness and voice are used in the game, answered questions from the fans and gamers for an hour. [Click here for image]

The actor rarely if ever comes to such events but his relations with the development team are, as he himself declared, excellent and he agreed to come to the event as a token of his appreciation of the game… plus to learn a bit about the process of game development. [Click here for image]

He finished his public appearance by graciously standing for photos with some fans and with the “ambassadors” of the game, some charming young ladies that were demonstrating the game to the public. [Click here for image]

Some VIP’s had the opportunity to meet with him backstage after the public appearing before the media started their interview. One of these was Lieutenant Mary Danner, of the USAF. The Lt. is not only a fan of the show, but also a liaison officer to the show. The USAF has always been associated closely with STARGATE SG-1 both as counselors for increased realism and partners in communication. [Click here for image]

Actually, fans should watch closely as some very special events just might be happening in collaboration with the USAF when the game gets closer to release … but this is still classified information…

Richard Dean Anderson finally gave several interviews to European and American media, often insisting on the humor he has wanted to insert in the series and generally leaving a wonderful impression of professionalism, kindness and modesty, that is the trademark of real stars.
